You'll work with technologies related to Ka band and FR1 band communication payloads. This position requires expertise in digital signal processing and wireless communications.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on wireless communication technologies β€” your experience includes designing and integrating complex communication systems that leverage advanced technologies. You are well-versed in digital signal processing and information theory, which allows you to innovate and develop solutions that enhance system performance and reliability. Your ability to analyze system-level performance metrics such as throughput, latency, and packet loss is second nature to you, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can lead projects and mentor others.

You possess a deep understanding of the physical layer and protocol stacks, having developed proof of concept systems that demonstrate your innovative approaches to communication challenges. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are passionate about using your expertise to contribute to groundbreaking projects that have a global impact, particularly in providing connectivity to underserved communities.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the overall communication system architecture for Amazon Leo’s broadband wireless network. You will lead efforts in designing and developing advanced technology solutions that enhance the performance of the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) network. Your work will involve creating simulation tools to model physical layer aspects, focusing on advanced receiver modeling and system integration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the communication systems meet the high standards required for low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity.

You will analyze the overall system performance and work on optimizing the communication payload and customer terminal systems. Your contributions will directly influence the success of Project Leo, as you innovate and implement novel solutions that push the boundaries of wireless technology. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

What we offer

Amazon provides a competitive salary range of $159,200.00 - $215,300.00 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. You will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to making a significant impact in the field of broadband connectivity. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement β€” your passion for innovation and commitment to excellence are what truly matter.
