Who you are
You have experience navigating complex legal challenges in a fast-moving technical environment — you understand the intricacies of copyright, privacy, and data localization as they pertain to AI development. Your ability to translate legal requirements into practical solutions is a key asset, allowing you to support pioneering AI research and development effectively.
You are a subject matter expert in the legal aspects of data acquisition and risk mitigation — your insights help guide research teams on permissible data usage and data sourcing strategies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside researchers and engineers to ensure compliance with rapidly evolving regulatory regimes.
What you'll do
As a Frontier Counsel at Anthropic, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor to the Research organization and Compute team. Your responsibilities will include advising on data acquisition frameworks and supporting research and data operations. You will also counsel on compute infrastructure considerations, including data localization and cross-border data flows, ensuring that AI development is both responsible and innovative.
You will collaborate with various teams, including Alignment, Frontier Red-Teaming, Policy, and Societal Impacts, to promote safe AI development practices. Your role will require you to stay updated on legal trends and regulatory changes that impact AI technologies, allowing you to provide strategic guidance that aligns with Anthropic's mission to create beneficial AI systems.
