You have a BS/MS degree in Computer Science and at least 3 years of experience in backend development, particularly in building RESTful APIs and managing data warehouses. Your expertise in Python is complemented by familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Trino. You are a self-motivated learner who enjoys tackling complex problems and contributing to open source projects. Your experience with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP enhances your ability to optimize data operations effectively.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop automation tools that streamline operations. Your understanding of container orchestration using Kubernetes allows you to facilitate efficient deployment and scaling of applications. You are committed to ensuring high client satisfaction by addressing queries promptly and effectively.

Desirable

Experience with Scala or Java is a plus, as well as familiarity with Hadoop, Hive, and Flink. Your contributions to open source projects will be viewed favorably, showcasing your commitment to the tech community.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer, Data Backend at Appier, you will design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python, ensuring they meet the needs of our clients. You will build and manage robust data warehouses utilizing Trino/Presto and Pinot, playing a critical role in our data infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing data pipelines using Apache Airflow and Apache Spark, which are essential for processing and analyzing large datasets.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop automation tools that streamline daily operations, enhancing efficiency across the board. Implementing state-of-the-art monitoring and alerting systems will be part of your role, ensuring optimal system performance and stability. You will also address queries from applications in a timely manner, contributing to high client satisfaction.

Your work will involve leveraging cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP to optimize data operations, ensuring that our solutions are scalable and efficient. Utilizing Kubernetes for container orchestration will facilitate the efficient deployment and scaling of applications, making you a key player in our engineering team.
