Overview

Apple is seeking an Analog Design Engineer to develop high-performance AMS circuits for SerDes PHY. You'll work with cross-functional teams to create specifications and implement designs. This role requires a deep understanding of analog mixed-signal design and experience with high-speed serial links.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a deep understanding of analog mixed-signal design, with a focus on high-speed serial links. Your experience includes evaluating different circuit topologies for specific product requirements, such as Rx, CDR, Tx, and bias generators. You are familiar with high-speed clock generation and low-jitter distribution, phase interpolators, DLLs, and VCOs, ensuring the best power, performance, and area (PPA) in your designs. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including architecture, SIPI, packaging, board design, DFT, and ESD to create block-level specifications and execute transistor-level implementations.

You have a proven track record of driving mask design to implement layout views of your designs. Your ability to communicate progress and discuss new ideas with peers and management makes you a valuable team member. You are committed to delivering high-quality IP views that meet the standards set by SOC teams, ensuring that your contributions have a significant impact on the products you help create.

Desirable

Experience with advanced circuit design tools and methodologies is a plus. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in IC design will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. A background in working with high-performance AMS circuits will set you apart as a candidate.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the development of high-performance and high-speed AMS circuits used in SerDes PHY. You will evaluate various circuit topologies to meet specific product requirements, ensuring that your designs excel in power, performance, and area. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create detailed block-level specifications and execute on transistor-level implementation and behavioral modeling. Your work will involve driving mask design to implement layout views of your designs, ensuring that they meet the quality standards required by SOC teams.

You will regularly interact with your peers and management to communicate progress and share new ideas, fostering a lively and interactive work environment. Your contributions will play a crucial role in crafting upcoming products that delight millions of Apple customers. You will be expected to stay updated on the latest advancements in analog mixed-signal design and apply this knowledge to your work, continuously improving the quality and performance of your designs.
