You have a solid background in programming and software engineering, with proficiency in languages such as Python, C++, and Java. Your experience in machine learning is complemented by a strong understanding of natural language processing applications, particularly in the context of machine translation and large language models. You are familiar with data and model training pipelines, and you have a keen interest in optimizing solutions for high-quality translation outputs.

You possess good knowledge of machine learning techniques and modeling expertise, especially as they relate to NLP applications like machine translation and automatic speech recognition. Your ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential, as you will be part of a motivated group focused on enhancing translation quality across various Apple products.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS is a plus, as it will aid in managing data acquisition projects and deploying machine learning models effectively. What you'll do

In this role, you will play a critical part in the development and optimization of Apple's machine translation technologies. You will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and shipping scalable model assets that support a multitude of languages. Your work will directly impact products like the Translate App and system-wide translation features across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS.

You will apply and improve data and model training pipelines, allowing for rapid expansion into new languages and enhancing the overall quality of translation models. Collaborating with your team, you will manage data acquisition projects and drive evaluation criteria to establish unprecedented translation quality in all of Apple's machine translation products.
