Data Center Product Design Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and bring over 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in the design of server, storage, and hyperscale data center products. Your strong engineering fundamentals include solid mechanics, material science, heat transfer, and mechanism design, which you apply to create innovative solutions. You have experience with the server mechanical development cycle, from prototyping to high-volume manufacturing, and have collaborated with JDM vendors to create components and assemblies for prototyping. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills allow you to convey design ideas and requirements clearly within your team and to cross-functional partners and vendors. You possess a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivering high-quality designs.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development of systems from chip to server to rack. Your role involves engineering products from concept to production, focusing on creating the most energy-efficient, cost-effective, and scalable designs possible. You will work closely with other engineering groups to integrate technology into Apple’s next generation of server and storage hardware. Your contributions will include rapid iteration and open cross-functional feedback to ensure the best outcomes. You will also engage in healthy debates to curate innovative design solutions that meet Apple's high standards for performance and efficiency.
