Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data science, with a strong background in analytics and experimentation β you've led teams in interpreting complex datasets to drive product decisions and improve user experiences. Your expertise in Python and SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, and you are comfortable using machine learning techniques to derive insights from data. You excel at building cross-functional relationships, collaborating with engineering, design, and product marketing teams to ensure data-informed strategies are implemented across the organization.
You possess a deep understanding of both quantitative and qualitative data analysis β you can translate telemetry data and customer feedback into actionable insights that inform product strategy. Your leadership style is supportive and mentoring, fostering a culture of growth and learning within your team. You are passionate about enhancing user experiences and are committed to using data to inform decisions that impact millions of users.
Desirable
Experience with user studies and qualitative research methods is a plus, as is familiarity with data visualization tools to present findings effectively. A background in software engineering or product management can also enhance your ability to collaborate with technical teams.
What you'll do
As the Lead Data Scientist for Apple's Intelligent System Experience group, you will oversee a talented team of data scientists dedicated to understanding customer engagement with Appleβs products. You will guide your team in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting vast amounts of data to improve product features and inform strategic directions. Your role will involve working closely with the Input Experience Analytics software engineering team to design and implement metrics that accurately reflect user interactions with software features.
You will also collaborate with the ISE User Studies team to create a holistic view of the user experience, ensuring that both quantitative and qualitative insights are integrated into product development processes. Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring team members, fostering their professional growth, and ensuring that the team remains focused on delivering high-quality insights that drive product improvements.
In addition, you will be responsible for presenting findings to senior leadership, articulating the implications of data insights on product strategy and user experience. You will champion a data-driven culture within the organization, advocating for the importance of analytics in decision-making processes.
