You are proactive in monitoring database health and performance metrics, ensuring that multi-tenant systems operate smoothly.

Desirable

Experience with disaster recovery strategies and continuous improvement processes is a plus — you understand the importance of maintaining robust database operations procedures. Familiarity with full-stack development practices will enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Database Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for architecting and optimizing the RAG platform's database infrastructure — your role will involve making critical technical decisions that impact the performance and scalability of the system. You will collaborate with design teams across all disciplines, ensuring they can efficiently onboard and query enterprise-scale datasets.

You will lead the development of data ingestion pipelines, working closely with the development team to refine processes that enhance data accessibility and usability. Your collaboration with DevOps/SRE teams will focus on maintaining high-quality service and resource allocation, ensuring that the system can scale effectively as user demands grow.

In addition to your primary focus on database architecture, you will contribute to full-stack development efforts using Python and JavaScript — your ability to bridge the gap between database management and application development will be key to the team's success. You will monitor database performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement, driving enhancements in retrieval performance and overall system efficiency.
