What you'll do

As a Software Development Engineer on the Postgres team, you will develop and operate Apple’s cloud-based relational database service, ensuring it meets the demands of various workloads across the company. You will work closely with a team of experts to enhance PostgreSQL's capabilities, focusing on performance, availability, and durability. Your contributions will directly impact millions of users by improving the reliability and efficiency of key Apple services.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing features that enhance the functionality of PostgreSQL, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in production environments. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that the database service aligns with the needs of various stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and AI/ML teams.

Your role will also involve monitoring database performance, conducting capacity planning, and implementing best practices for database administration. You will have the opportunity to contribute to open-source PostgreSQL projects, sharing your insights and improvements with the broader community.
