What you'll do

As a Software Development Engineer on the Postgres team, you will develop and operate Apple’s cloud-based relational database service, which hosts PostgreSQL databases for various critical workloads. You will collaborate with a team of experts to enhance the performance, availability, and durability of the databases, ensuring they meet the needs of Apple’s services and manufacturing operations. Your work will involve deploying solutions at massive scale, handling millions of queries per second across petabytes of data.

You will be responsible for contributing to the development of new features and improvements in PostgreSQL, as well as ensuring reliable administration of the databases. You will engage in troubleshooting and optimizing database performance, and your contributions will directly impact the user experience of key Apple services. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge with the team.
