You have a strong background in systems engineering and software development, with a focus on embedded systems — your experience includes managing technical teams and driving performance optimizations across various layers of an operating system. Your understanding of both hardware and software aspects of products allows you to bridge the gap between teams effectively.

You have a proven track record of leading engineering teams in a collaborative environment — you thrive on building diverse teams that foster creativity and innovation. Your technical expertise includes working with Linux and embedded systems, and you are comfortable navigating the intricacies of system software stacks. You are committed to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies, ensuring your team stays at the forefront of industry advancements.

Desirable

Experience with performance optimization techniques and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with the Apple ecosystem and its development practices. You may also have experience in hiring and team building, contributing to a positive and productive work culture.

What you'll do

In this role, you will manage and support a team of deeply technical engineers focused on enhancing the Apple Watch experience — your responsibilities will include overseeing the development of new features and core architectural technology for WatchOS. You will collaborate closely with adjacent teams, such as Performance, Power, OS, Hardware, and Graphics, to ensure seamless integration and optimization of features.

You will be involved in hands-on development, working at various layers of the system software stack, from firmware to application layers — your leadership will guide the team in tackling complex problems and implementing innovative solutions. You will also be responsible for mentoring team members, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Your role will require you to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring that your team is equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to excel in their projects. You will play a key role in shaping the future of WatchOS, driving initiatives that enhance performance and user experience.
