Overview

Apple is seeking a CPU Implementation Lead Engineer to drive chip implementation from definition to silicon correlation. You'll work with multi-functional engineering teams to validate physical design aspects. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.

Who you are

You have a minimum of a BS degree and over 10 years of relevant industry experience, showcasing your expertise in driving chip implementation from the definition phase to silicon correlation. Your background includes extensive knowledge in CPU IP delivery and the ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional engineering teams. You are skilled in implementing and validating physical design aspects, including timing, power, area, electrical analysis, functionality, reliability, and testability. Your experience allows you to make informed decisions regarding area, frequency, performance, and power trade-offs, effectively removing bottlenecks to meet design targets and delivery schedules. You have a strong understanding of RTL-to-GDS flow, including synthesis and place-and-route processes, and you are committed to targeting aggressive goals for power, performance, and area. Mentoring junior engineers is a passion of yours, as you enjoy sharing your knowledge and guiding the next generation of engineers.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own or participate in the CPU IP delivery process, ensuring that all aspects of the design are thoroughly validated and optimized. You will collaborate with various engineering teams to implement and validate physical design, focusing on critical areas such as timing, power, and area. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the partition implementation team to make strategic trade-offs that enhance performance while adhering to strict delivery schedules. You will also play a key role in defining and enhancing the RTL-to-GDS flow, contributing to the synthesis and place-and-route processes that are essential for achieving high-performance targets. As a leader in the CPU Implementation team, you will mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and development within the organization. Your contributions will directly impact the success of Apple's groundbreaking products, as you help shape the future of technology.
