Hardware Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have a strong background in hardware engineering, particularly in CPU design and implementation. Your experience includes working with micro-architects to define micro-architecture and assess design feasibility, focusing on power, performance, and area (PPA) trade-offs. You are proficient in using synthesis and place-and-route tools to achieve ambitious design goals, ensuring that block-level designs meet electrical requirements and improve silicon yield.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Your familiarity with industry-standard synthesis and PNR tool features allows you to contribute to the adoption of optimizations in CPU design. You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of timing, power, reliability, and testability in CPU floorplanning.

What you'll do

As a CPU Implementation Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for driving block-level design delivery and ensuring the closure of backend flows. You will collaborate closely with internal CAD and PD methodology teams to optimize design processes and improve overall efficiency. Your role will involve working with cross-functional teams to address various aspects of CPU design, including timing analysis and power management.

You will participate in the RTL-to-GDS design convergence process, focusing on microarchitecture and logic optimizations. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of Apple's cutting-edge hardware products. You will also engage in continuous learning and development, staying updated on the latest technologies and methodologies in CPU design.
