You are passionate about high-performance computing and have hands-on experience with ML frameworks, particularly JAX. Your ability to develop and scale systems for large-scale reinforcement learning makes you an ideal candidate for this role. You understand the intricacies of distributed actor/learner architectures and efficient experience replay, and you are eager to contribute to the next generation of foundation models at Apple.

What you'll do

As a core member of the ML infrastructure team, you will design, build, and scale systems that enable large-scale reinforcement learning for Apple’s foundation models. You will focus on TPU-based training with JAX, developing robust, high-performance RL pipelines that support distributed architectures. Your work will involve collaborating with teams across Apple’s engineering hubs, including New York, Seattle, and Cupertino, to advance the tooling and systems that make large-scale model training possible.

You will accelerate experimentation and optimize the infrastructure to ensure that it meets the demands of state-of-the-art machine learning workloads. Your role will require you to stay at the forefront of technology, continuously exploring new methods and tools to enhance the performance and efficiency of the training infrastructure. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
