Overview

Apple is hiring a Panel Design Engineer to design and develop advanced TFT technologies for displays in their products. You'll work with Electrical Engineering fundamentals and simulation tools like SPICE and Cadence. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. Your expertise lies in Electrical Engineering fundamentals, particularly in analog and digital circuit design, which you have applied in practical settings. You are familiar with SPICE and Cadence modeling and simulation tools, enabling you to effectively design and validate TFT panel architectures.

Your experience includes working on TFT pixel and panel design, layout, and parasitic parameter extraction. You have a strong understanding of TFT pixel and panel modeling, characterization, and validation, which allows you to contribute significantly to the development of high-performance displays. You are skilled in failure mode analysis and root cause investigation, which are crucial for problem-solving in mass-production display development.

Collaboration is key in your work style; you thrive in cross-functional teams, working closely with TFT process engineers, optics designers, silicon designers, mechanical engineers, and product designers. You are also comfortable collaborating with external vendors for display manufacturing, showcasing your ability to manage relationships and project implementations effectively.

You are open to international business travel to support project implementation, demonstrating your commitment to seeing projects through to completion and ensuring successful outcomes.

Desirable

In-depth technical knowledge of display technologies is a plus, as it enhances your ability to innovate and explore new TFT technologies. Your curiosity drives you to investigate and validate new technologies, ensuring that Apple remains at the forefront of display performance.

What you'll do

As a Panel Design Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and launching next-generation TFT technologies for portable, laptop, and desktop displays. Your role will involve architecting and developing total TFT pixel and panel designs for mass production, ensuring that Apple products deliver the best display performance.

You will engage in TFT pixel/control circuit simulation, circuit layout/optimization, and whole panel architecture/simulation. Your work will also include co-existence simulations with other components in Apple products, ensuring seamless integration and performance.

Your responsibilities will extend to TFT panel architecture scoping and definition, where you will define the specifications and requirements for new designs. You will also be involved in failure mode analysis and root cause investigation, addressing any issues that arise during the development process.

Collaboration will be a significant part of your role, as you will work with various teams across the organization, including TFT process, optics, touch designers, silicon designers, mechanical engineering, and product design. You will also liaise with external vendors to facilitate display manufacturing, ensuring that all aspects of production are aligned with Apple's high standards.

What we offer

At Apple, you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence in display technology. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions will directly impact the quality and performance of our products. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and be part of a company that values creativity and forward-thinking.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Your unique perspective and skills could be the perfect fit for our team. Join us in shaping the future of display technology at Apple.
