Overview
Apple is hiring an RFIC Layout Engineer to design and implement advanced CMOS radios. You'll work with CADENCE tools and have expertise in FinFet technology. This position requires 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree and over 10 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in custom RF/analog layout for radio transceivers. Your expertise includes deep sub-micron CMOS and FinFet technology, which are crucial for the role. You possess a solid understanding of layout techniques for device matching, minimizing parasitics, RF shielding, and high-frequency routing. Your knowledge extends to RC delay, electromigration, and coupling, ensuring that you can tackle complex design challenges effectively.
You are proficient in interpreting CALIBRE DRC, ERC, and LVS in FinFet technology, which is essential for maintaining high standards in layout verification. Your scripting skills in Perl or SKILL enhance your ability to automate tasks and improve efficiency in the design process. Excellent communication skills are a hallmark of your professional demeanor, allowing you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
As an RFIC Layout Engineer, you will be a key member of the RFIC team, responsible for the detailed transistor-level layout of RF and analog circuit blocks, including LNA, mixers, PLL, LO generation, modulators, power amplifiers, ADC/DAC, baseband filters, and bandgap/bias/LDO. You will engage in block-level layout through the full verification flow, which includes extraction, DRC, LVS, and DFM, ensuring that all designs meet stringent performance and reliability standards.
Your role will involve researching and designing the next generation of wireless technologies, bringing them into high-volume production in advanced CMOS technology nodes. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to refine designs and address any issues that arise during the layout process. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and efficiency of the wireless systems being developed.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive team that values innovation and creativity. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that shapes the future of wireless communications. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with a supportive work environment that fosters professional growth and development.
