Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, demonstrating strong architectural skills and a deep understanding of cloud-native and hybrid infrastructures. Your expertise in designing reliable and secure systems is complemented by your hands-on experience with automation frameworks and incident response engineering. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in reliability and observability.

Your technical background includes proficiency in AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, allowing you to architect scalable infrastructures that meet performance and cost-efficiency goals. You are well-versed in defining service-level indicators (SLIs), objectives (SLOs), and agreements (SLAs) to guide engineering teams towards achieving reliability targets. Your analytical skills enable you to conduct thorough post-incident reviews and drive systemic improvements.

You are passionate about building automation frameworks that support production systems at scale, and you have experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Your knowledge of application and infrastructure security ensures that you can design secure integrations with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for sensitive workloads. You are a proactive problem solver, always looking for ways to enhance system resilience and prevent incidents.

Desirable

Experience with cryptographic systems and key management is a plus, as is familiarity with incident architecture and prevention strategies. You are comfortable leading technical discussions during major incidents and have a track record of implementing preventive architectural controls. Your ability to mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across teams is highly valued.

What you'll do

As a technical lead during major incidents, you will partner with security and platform teams to conduct deep post-incident reviews, driving systemic improvements and establishing preventive architectural controls.

Your role will also involve building and maintaining automation frameworks that support production systems at scale. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of various applications and services. Your contributions will have a significant impact on the reliability and performance of Apple's infrastructure.
