Who you are

You have over 7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles, with at least 2 years in an architectural or principal engineering capacity. Your deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, particularly with AWS, GCP, or AliCloud, allows you to design and implement robust systems that meet high-performance standards. You are proficient in container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and EKS, and you understand the intricacies of distributed systems and networking.

Your experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation enables you to automate and streamline deployment processes effectively. You are also skilled in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Go, or Bash, which you use to build automation frameworks that support production systems at scale.

You have a solid background in designing observability stacks using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and ELK, which helps in monitoring and maintaining system reliability. Your familiarity with CI/CD tools and modern deployment strategies, including ArgoCD and GitOps, allows you to implement efficient workflows that enhance productivity and reduce downtime.

You are knowledgeable about security best practices in cloud and containerized environments, ensuring that the systems you design are not only reliable but also secure. Your understanding of HSMs and crypto operations contributes to maintaining audit readiness and compliance in your projects.

What you'll do

In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for designing and scaling reliable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure across Apple’s cloud and hybrid environments. You will establish reliability patterns and drive large-scale systems design, ensuring that the infrastructure can support production systems at scale. Your role will involve building automation frameworks that enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in incident response and resilience automation, ensuring that systems are prepared for unexpected challenges. Your architectural ownership will influence the strategic direction of the JMET SRE Team, allowing you to make a significant technical impact across multiple domains.

You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise in cloud infrastructure and automation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Your contributions will help shape the future of Apple’s infrastructure, making it more reliable and efficient.
