Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Ops, Site Reliability Engineering, or a DevOps-focused role — you've built and supported highly available customer-facing services and understand the complexities of operating at scale. Your expertise in Linux and Python allows you to tackle challenges effectively, and you have a strong grasp of automation and CI/CD practices that enhance system reliability.
You are familiar with cloud services, particularly AWS, and have experience with container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes — you know how to leverage these technologies to improve service performance and reliability. Your background includes working with monitoring tools and incident management processes, ensuring that you can respond swiftly to any issues that arise.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product development teams to deliver exceptional user experiences — your communication skills enable you to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. You are passionate about implementing best practices in reliability and performance, and you continuously seek opportunities to improve existing systems.
Desirable
Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform is a plus, as is familiarity with data-driven decision-making processes. You understand the importance of leveraging data to inform your strategies and are always looking for ways to optimize system performance.
What you'll do
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for the reliability and performance of the server software stack that powers products like iCloud Photos, Mail, and Drive. You will collaborate with product development teams to ensure that reliability best practices are integrated from service inception to production.
You will design and implement monitoring solutions that provide visibility into system performance and reliability, allowing you to proactively address potential issues before they impact users. Your role will involve automating processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, ensuring that systems are resilient and scalable.
