Who you are
You have 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong programming skills in Objective-C and/or Swift β you've built applications on Apple platforms like macOS and iOS, and understand the intricacies of system-level frameworks and APIs. Your experience includes working on complex systems that prioritize reliability and security, and you have a passion for creating seamless user experiences in cloud services.
You excel in communication and collaboration, working closely with cross-functional teams including CloudKit, server components, and cryptography experts β you understand the importance of privacy and data protection in cloud computing and are committed to extending Apple's values in this area. Your technical background allows you to engage deeply with both low-level and system-level programming, ensuring that you can contribute effectively to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for building the foundations of a secure and private cloud, focusing on device-to-device encrypted storage and protected computation. You will collaborate with the CloudKit team and other engineering teams to ensure the availability and efficiency of iCloud services. Your work will involve implementing synchronization protocols and optimizing multi-process performance, ensuring that the systems you build can recover seamlessly from errors.
You will also engage in framework design and IPCs, contributing to the overall architecture of iCloud services. Your role will require you to stay updated with the latest developments in cloud technology and apply best practices in software engineering to enhance the performance and security of Appleβs cloud offerings.
