Overview

Apple is seeking a Test Design Lead to champion product calibration and test strategy, integrating with various teams to enable product characterization. This role requires a strong background in electrical and hardware engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a BS or MS in Electrical Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant engineering major, along with 5-10 years of experience in the field. Your excellent understanding of hardware/software architecture and the interoperability of sophisticated systems sets you apart. You possess fundamental electrical engineering knowledge and have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Your self-motivation, drive, and attention to detail are key attributes that contribute to your success in this role.

Desirable

Prior experience with integration of technologies such as Acoustics, Display, Touch, Imaging Sensors, Motion Sensors, and Automation is a plus. You have hands-on experience in hardware and firmware activities, including design, bringing up, debugging, and validating circuits, which enhances your ability to lead testing initiatives effectively.

What you'll do

As the System Test Design Lead, you will champion product calibration and test strategy while balancing tradeoffs between quality, customer experience, and operational requirements. You will integrate with various teams across design, software, and operations on new product definitions to enable product characterization. Your leadership will significantly impact Apple’s products, ensuring that testing solutions are efficient for high-volume manufacturing. You will be responsible for developing and implementing test strategies that align with product goals and customer expectations.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define testing requirements and ensure that products meet the highest standards of quality. Your role will involve analyzing test results, identifying areas for improvement, and driving continuous enhancements in testing processes. You will also mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the testing team.
