You have 5-10 years of experience developing apps with UIKit and/or SwiftUI — you've built user interfaces that delight users and understand the nuances of creating fluid interactions. Your background includes architecting and implementing reusable public or private APIs, showcasing your ability to design systems that are both efficient and user-friendly.
You possess an excellent understanding of optimization and performance issues across OS software layers — you know how to make applications run smoothly and efficiently, ensuring that users have the best experience possible. Your knowledge of inter-process communication and systems development allows you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
You are proactive and detail-oriented, with a keen eye for design and a passion for creating engaging user experiences. Your debugging skills are top-notch, enabling you to identify and resolve issues quickly, ensuring that the final product meets high standards of quality.
Your communication and collaboration skills are exceptional — you thrive in team environments and enjoy working closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to bring innovative ideas to life. Desirable

What you'll do
As a Senior UI Engineer on the System Spaces team, you will be responsible for building and enhancing user interfaces for iconic features such as the Home Screen, Lock Screen, Control Center, and Widgets across various Apple platforms. Your role will involve prototyping new user interface paradigms and implementing new features that improve user engagement and satisfaction.
You will define APIs and work on fixing bugs to ensure that the applications run smoothly and efficiently. Your focus will be on improving performance and optimizing the user experience, making interactions feel fluid and enjoyable for millions of users worldwide.
Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with multi-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and world-class designers. You will participate in brainstorming sessions, contribute to design discussions, and help shape the future of user experiences on Apple devices.
