Who you are
You have extensive experience in security engineering and leadership, with a proven track record of scaling security teams in a SaaS environment. Your background includes deep knowledge of security architecture and product security, enabling you to set the technical bar for your teams. You excel in fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence, ensuring that security is embedded in every aspect of product development. You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, IT, Legal, and Compliance, to build trust and address security threats proactively.
You possess strong strategic thinking skills, allowing you to define and deliver a multi-year roadmap for Security Engineering that aligns with business priorities. Your ability to drive preventive, engineering-led security systems will help reduce systemic risk and enable teams to build securely by default. You are a strong communicator, capable of articulating complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead and scale a multi-disciplinary Security Engineering organization through Engineering Managers and individual contributors. You will define the Security Engineering strategy and ensure it aligns with Asana's product and platform priorities. Your responsibilities will include overseeing Security Development, Security Architecture, and Corporate Security Engineering teams, ensuring they operate effectively and efficiently.
You will drive the shift towards preventive security measures, enabling teams to integrate security into their workflows seamlessly. Your leadership will set the technical standards across various security domains, including product security, identity management, and corporate security engineering. You will also be responsible for mentoring and developing your teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
