You are proficient in a variety of technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform — your expertise enables you to create frameworks and tools that improve the reliability and observability of infrastructure. You have a keen interest in operational aspects such as failure modes, performance, and cost management, which drives your approach to building robust systems. Your ability to debug production issues across the stack ensures that you can address challenges proactively and effectively.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with cross-functional teams — your communication skills allow you to articulate technical concepts clearly and work closely with engineers and product teams. You are passionate about using code to automate processes and improve infrastructure, moving beyond traditional runbooks to create scalable solutions. Desirable

Experience with stateful infrastructure management, particularly with databases like MySQL and DynamoDB, is a plus. Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog will enhance your ability to monitor and improve system performance. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design and build frameworks, tools, and services that enhance the reliability and scalability of Asana’s infrastructure. You will lead end-to-end projects, from scoping and design through to rollout, collaborating with multiple teams to ensure successful implementation. Your focus will be on improving the operability of stateful infrastructure, including MySQL, OpenSearch, and DynamoDB, while driving Asana’s vision for storage reliability.

You will debug production issues across the stack, ensuring that systems are resilient and performant. While there is an on-call rotation, your role is not just about responding to incidents; you will work to fix issues properly and prevent future occurrences. You will also contribute to the development of best practices for infrastructure management, sharing your insights and experiences with the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
