You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on CI/CD practices — you've successfully designed and implemented CI/CD pipelines that enhance developer productivity and streamline deployment processes. Your background includes working with large-scale applications, ensuring that your solutions are robust and scalable.

You possess deep knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools — you understand the importance of automated testing and continuous integration in delivering high-quality software. Your experience includes mentoring fellow engineers in best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within your team.

You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working with cross-functional teams — your ability to communicate effectively with security, infrastructure, and product teams ensures that CI/CD workflows are integrated seamlessly into the development lifecycle. You stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in CI/CD, always looking for ways to innovate and improve.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus — you understand how to leverage cloud services to enhance CI/CD processes. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines that support both continuous integration and deployment — your work will ensure world-class build, test, and release processes that align with Asana's mission to provide an unparalleled development environment. You will architect automated deployment frameworks that facilitate zero-downtime releases, allowing for rapid iteration cycles for our software products.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Security, Infrastructure, and Product teams — your goal will be to integrate advanced automated testing and robust reporting systems into our CI/CD workflows, enhancing reliability and performance. You will also mentor fellow engineers in best practices for CI/CD, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the organization.

As a Staff Engineer, you will spearhead multi-quarter strategic initiatives aimed at improving CI/CD infrastructure reliability, scalability, and performance — your leadership will be crucial in driving innovation and stability for our large-scale applications. You will stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in CI/CD and DevOps, recommending and implementing improvements that align with industry best practices.
