You possess a deep understanding of signal processing and have experience with digital signal processing (DSP) techniques. Your knowledge extends to working with field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA), enabling you to contribute to the development of custom components for satellite communication systems. You are detail-oriented and analytical, ensuring that all designs meet stringent requirements for performance and reliability.

What you'll do

As an RF/Communication Systems Engineer at Astranis, you will take ownership of the architecture and design of satellite communication payloads. You will lead efforts in research and development for new radio features and technologies, ensuring that the systems you design meet the high standards required by our sophisticated customers. You will collaborate with various engineering teams, including antenna, SDR, RF, DSP, and mechanical teams, to ensure that all components work seamlessly together.

Your role will involve conducting architectural trade studies to evaluate different design options and establish system and unit level requirements. You will utilize simulation tools to analyze performance and validate designs, ensuring that they meet the necessary specifications. You will also be responsible for documenting your findings and presenting them to stakeholders, contributing to the overall success of the projects.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a key role in mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge with the team. You will foster a collaborative environment where innovative ideas can flourish, and you will encourage team members to think creatively about solving complex engineering challenges.
