You have a strong background in IT and security operations, ideally with 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. You thrive in ambiguous situations and enjoy problem-solving, particularly in the context of security and data management. Your expertise includes working with tools like Apache Airflow and AWS, and you have a solid understanding of incident response protocols. You are passionate about building durable systems and improving security processes, ensuring that operations run smoothly and securely.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You are comfortable analyzing data to inform security initiatives and have experience creating playbooks for repeatable processes. Your proactive approach to security challenges enables you to identify vulnerabilities and implement effective solutions. You are eager to grow your skills in GenAI automation and contribute to high-priority projects that enhance service health and incident response.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing security measures that protect Astronomer's infrastructure and data. You will handle complex escalations and work on high-priority projects, including AI/ML-enabled systems and data analytics for service health. Your contributions will directly impact the speed and safety of Astronomer's growth, as you help create a playbook for resilient enterprise operations. You will collaborate with IT and security teams to strengthen baseline security and improve vulnerability and patch operations.
You will also be involved in incident response, ensuring that the organization can quickly and effectively address security threats. Your role will require you to analyze data to scope future initiatives and make informed decisions about security practices. You will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to develop smarter workflows that enhance operational efficiency.
