Overview
Axiom is hiring a Distributed Systems Engineer to build Rust-based rollup nodes and sequencers for zero-knowledge proof based products. You'll work primarily in Rust and design secure systems for scaling smart contract applications. This position requires strong engineering design skills and experience with blockchain protocols.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a distributed systems engineer with a strong background in building secure and efficient systems. You have experience designing and implementing blockchain protocols, and you possess a security mindset that guides your engineering decisions. You are fluent in Rust, C++, or a similarly performant backend language, with a preference for Rust as it is the primary language used in our projects. Your strong engineering design skills enable you to make pragmatic technology choices that empower our small team to deliver impactful solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are excited about tackling challenging problems in the crypto and fintech space.
Desirable
Experience with zero-knowledge proofs and familiarity with zkVM frameworks would be a plus. A background in high-frequency trading (HFT) startups or similar environments is also desirable, as it demonstrates your ability to work under pressure and deliver results. You have a passion for innovative technologies and a desire to contribute to the development of cutting-edge applications.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for building Rust-based rollup nodes and sequencers that deliver zero-knowledge proof based products on-chain. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to design and implement systems that are both secure and efficient, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. Your work will involve making design choices that enable rapid development without sacrificing security, allowing our team to innovate quickly in a competitive landscape. You will also support teams building on OpenVM, our modular zkVM framework, and contribute to the development of ZK-enabled products that leverage this technology. As part of a small but strong team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the direction of our projects and the success of our company.
What we offer
At Axiom, we offer a collaborative and supportive work environment where you can grow your skills and advance your career. We provide competitive compensation and the opportunity to work on groundbreaking technologies that are shaping the future of crypto and fintech.
