You have at least 2 years of professional experience in cybersecurity research, specifically focused on network traffic analysis — your expertise lies in dissecting complex communication flows and identifying vulnerabilities in various protocols. You are proficient in using network analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump, allowing you to perform deep-dive security research effectively.

Your experience includes researching network protocols, whether they are well-known or proprietary — you understand the intricacies of TCP/IP and can navigate through obscure protocols with ease. You possess hands-on proficiency with SQL for data analysis and have basic Python skills for scripting or automation, enabling you to develop tools that enhance research workflows.

Desirable

Prior experience researching OT (Industrial) or IoT protocols and device architectures is a plus — you are familiar with the unique challenges these devices present in terms of security. Your background may include integrating security solutions into existing systems, showcasing your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

As a Network Security Researcher at Axonius, you will drive the full research lifecycle, from deep-dive protocol analysis to vulnerability discovery. You will conduct blackbox network analysis on proprietary and obscure OT, IoT, and medical protocols, identifying and fingerprinting devices based on network traffic patterns. Your role will involve developing logic to detect relevant CVEs and security risks, ensuring that our solutions remain robust against emerging threats.

You will collaborate closely with R&D and Product teams to transform your research findings into scalable security features and customer-facing solutions. This collaboration will require you to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on project goals and timelines.
