You have 3 or more years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend systems. Your expertise in Linux programming allows you to navigate complex environments effectively. You are proficient in Rust or have equivalent experience in C/C++, demonstrating a strong desire to transition to Rust development. You have a proven track record of taking and maintaining complex systems in production environments, ensuring their reliability and performance.

You are familiar with on-premise software development for Linux and have knowledge of additional programming languages like Python or Go. Your understanding of common network protocols such as IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, DHCP, and ARP enhances your ability to contribute to the team. You are also open to using AI techniques to enhance or accelerate development processes, showcasing your adaptability and forward-thinking approach.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Data Collection team, you will be responsible for developing high-performance deep packet inspection software for deployment at customer sites and cloud data endpoints. You will design and lead the development of new feature sets and architectural changes for core data collection components, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and security.

You will take systems from development through to production, focusing on performance and ongoing maintenance. Your expertise in Rust development will be crucial as you implement solutions with strict attention to system performance. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, sharing insights and best practices to enhance the overall quality of the software.

Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in production environments, ensuring that our systems remain robust and reliable. You will also participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to your peers and helping to maintain high coding standards across the team.
