Who you are

You have 2-6 years of experience in recruiting, ideally within a seed or series A company or a recruiting agency that focuses on tech startups in NYC — you understand the nuances of sourcing and managing candidates in a fast-paced environment. Your superb verbal and writing abilities allow you to communicate clearly and effectively, making you a strong advocate for both candidates and the company. You are deeply curious about everything, especially the intersection of people and AI, and you thrive in an environment where you can learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.

You are a strong logical reasoner, able to break complex concepts down to their fundamental elements and reason from there. Your facility with language makes you a clear and precise written communicator, which is essential in a role that requires constant interaction with candidates and team members. You are interdisciplinary, willing and interested to jump across multiple disciplines, and you are excited about laying the groundwork, technically and culturally, as the company rapidly scales.

You are genuinely excited about the technology and its impact on accounting, finance, and the economy. You love to play with new ideas and technologies, and you prefer shouting across a room over a Slack message, seeking a full-time in-office experience in NYC. You understand that this role is not a 9-5 job; you are all-in, ready to seize the massive opportunity ahead of you and help accelerate the company's velocity.

What you'll do

In this role, you will partner with the Head of Talent to source and manage the candidate pipeline for various positions across the company. You will be responsible for identifying top talent, conducting interviews, and ensuring a smooth candidate experience from application to onboarding. You will also collaborate with hiring managers to understand their needs and help shape job descriptions that attract the right candidates. As the company grows, you will play a key role in building a strong employer brand and fostering a positive company culture.

You will engage with candidates through various channels, including social media, job boards, and networking events, to build a diverse talent pool. You will also utilize data and metrics to track recruitment efforts and make informed decisions about sourcing strategies. Your ability to communicate effectively will be crucial in presenting the company's vision and values to potential hires, ensuring they align with the company's mission.
