Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a strong focus on building and deploying models that drive user engagement and behavior change. Your expertise in Python and Jupyter notebooks allows you to prototype and fine-tune features effectively, ensuring they meet user needs and business goals. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product managers, coaching scientists, and learning designers to translate research into actionable insights.

You possess a deep understanding of the production lifecycle, from data preparation to experiment design and evaluation. Your experience includes defining success metrics and implementing A/B tests to iterate quickly based on real user feedback. You are passionate about using generative AI to create personalized experiences that resonate with users, and you are always looking for ways to improve model architectures and retrieval strategies.

Desirable

Experience with large language models (LLMs) and familiarity with behavior-change research are highly desirable. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment, balancing in-person collaboration with remote work. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is a key asset, enabling you to advocate for user-centered design in AI products.

What you'll do

In this role, you will prototype, fine-tune, and evaluate LLM-powered features, contributing to products like FocusFrame, our AI copilot for coaches. You will own the production lifecycle, collaborating with a tight-knit squad of ML, backend, and full-stack engineers to ensure seamless integration of AI features into our platform. Your responsibilities will include shaping model architectures, defining retrieval strategies, and implementing safety guards to enhance user experience.

You will measure what matters by defining success metrics and conducting A/B tests to iterate on features based on real coach feedback. Your hands-on coding skills will be essential as you contribute to the technical design and implementation of AI-driven solutions. You will also engage in daily collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring that behavior-change research informs product development and user interactions.
