Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building and maintaining scalable systems. Your expertise includes working with relational databases and ensuring system resilience under load — you've tackled challenges related to performance and fault tolerance in high-demand environments.
You possess strong programming skills in languages such as Java and Python, and you are comfortable with SQL for database management. Your background includes designing and implementing robust data solutions that support millions of queries per second, and you understand the intricacies of data consistency and availability.
You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance. Your experience includes monitoring system health and implementing strategies to improve service reliability, ensuring that users have a seamless experience.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. You may also have knowledge of enterprise AI applications and how they can be integrated into content management systems.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Core Data Resilience team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the health and performance of Box's content platform. You will design and implement solutions that ensure the system remains fault-tolerant and performant, especially during peak loads. Your work will involve optimizing database queries and enhancing the overall architecture to support high availability.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers and product teams to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices in software development. Your responsibilities will include conducting code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the team's technical direction.
You will also be involved in monitoring system performance and responding to incidents, ensuring that any issues are resolved quickly and effectively. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience and the efficiency of Box's content management solutions.
What we offer
Box offers a competitive salary range of $198,000—$248,000 USD, along with equity and comprehensive benefits.
