Who you are

You have a strong background in security engineering and have spent several years leading teams focused on vulnerability remediation and security measures. Your experience with Linux and open-source projects has equipped you with the knowledge to address emerging threats effectively. You are passionate about developing engineering talent and fostering collaboration across teams to ensure the integrity of security practices.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage with both community members and customers effectively. Your technical expertise allows you to provide guidance on security projects and coordinate efforts across multiple engineering teams. You understand the importance of building a diverse and inclusive team environment, where every member feels valued and empowered to contribute.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead and develop a team of engineers, ranging from graduate to senior levels, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to succeed. You will provide technical guidance on vulnerability remediation, helping your team navigate complex security challenges. Your leadership will drive the development of new security engineering projects that enhance the safety of Ubuntu and its users.

You will engage directly with the community and customers, gathering feedback and insights to inform your team's work. Collaborating with other engineering teams, you will coordinate efforts to address potential CVEs and vulnerabilities, ensuring that Canonical products maintain their integrity and security. Your role will also involve line management and career guidance, helping your team members grow in their careers and develop their skills.
