You have a strong background in security engineering and management, with a proven track record of leading teams to implement robust security measures. Your experience with Linux and open-source software has equipped you with the skills necessary to address emerging threats and ensure the integrity of systems. You are passionate about setting high standards for software security and have a deep understanding of compliance requirements such as FIPS, CIS, and FedRAMP.
You possess excellent leadership skills, enabling you to guide development teams in security best practices while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Your ability to communicate complex security concepts to diverse audiences makes you an effective advocate for security within the organization. You thrive in a remote work environment and are comfortable managing teams across different time zones.
What you'll do
As the Engineering Manager for Security Standards and Hardening, you will lead a team of security experts dedicated to protecting the open-source ecosystem. Your role will involve developing and implementing security standards for various components of the Ubuntu platform, including desktops, servers, and cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with development teams to ensure that security best practices are integrated into the software development lifecycle.
You will be responsible for certifying core components to meet industry standards and guiding teams in addressing security vulnerabilities. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring that Canonical remains at the forefront of security in the open-source community.
