You have a strong technical background in security research, with experience in conducting investigations and generating your own research ideas. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, allowing you to navigate complex security challenges effectively. You are comfortable working with Internet-wide scan data and have a keen interest in identifying trends that have significant security implications. Your ability to document findings and share insights with the broader security community is a key part of your role.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, partnering with research and product teams to enhance the coverage and insights derived from data. Your expertise in tools like Wireshark and Burp Suite enables you to perform detailed analyses of vulnerabilities and improve classification of networking devices. You are passionate about contributing to the security community through blogs and talks, sharing your findings and insights with others.

What you'll do

In this role, you will conduct Internet measurement research using Censys’ Internet-wide scan data, focusing on identifying and analyzing trends that have interesting security implications. You will collaborate with engineering teams to provide them with the necessary information to enhance their coverage and insights. One week, you might analyze hosts vulnerable to specific CVEs, while the next, you may investigate endpoints that need scanning to improve device classification. Your work will directly impact the quality of insights provided to customers, helping them understand the security landscape better.

You will also have the opportunity to document your findings and share them with the broader security community, contributing to the collective knowledge in the field. By partnering with research and product teams, you will help shape the direction of Censys’ offerings, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of users. Your role is crucial in bridging the gap between data analysis and actionable security insights, making a significant impact on the security posture of organizations worldwide.
