Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in database engineering and administration, demonstrating deep technical mastery in managing relational database structures. You are skilled in designing, installing, configuring, and managing enterprise Microsoft SQL Server databases and Azure SQL services, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Your expertise includes advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies, allowing you to analyze SQL execution plans and resolve complex database bottlenecks effectively. You are also well-versed in enforcing database security policies, including encryption and role-based access, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulatory frameworks.

You possess strong mentoring skills, coaching and supporting team members in their technical growth while innovating scalable, reusable solutions that improve system reliability and agility. You understand the interdependencies within client systems and proactively manage technical risks to ensure seamless operations.

What you'll do

As a Senior Database Platform Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Application Managed Services team, collaborating closely with application developers, infrastructure engineers, business analysts, and IT leadership. Your primary responsibility will be to architect, maintain, and optimize mission-critical database solutions across the EMEA region.

You will design and maintain relational database structures to support application and reporting needs, ensuring that the databases are robust and efficient. Your role will involve automating routine DBA tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and DevOps pipelines, which will enhance operational efficiency.

You will lead efforts in defining and testing robust backup and recovery strategies, ensuring that recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) are met. During critical incidents, you will spearhead recovery efforts, demonstrating your ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
