You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building scalable data platforms. Your expertise includes designing systems for terabyte-scale data processing, and you are adept at evaluating and championing new technologies that enhance organizational efficiency. You understand the importance of establishing data engineering standards and best practices that elevate team quality and performance.

You possess advanced technical skills in architecting infrastructure for AI/ML workloads, including model training pipelines and feature engineering systems. Your experience includes designing complex data models that balance normalization, performance, and usability, ensuring that data solutions meet critical business needs. You are familiar with real-time and streaming data infrastructure, and you have engineered solutions for large-dataset performance challenges, particularly with Snowflake.

You are a proactive problem solver who can create sophisticated data-contract validators and schema evolution frameworks. Your ability to model infrastructure costs and drive efficiency initiatives across cloud platforms is a key asset that you bring to the team. What you'll do

In this role, you will own the technical roadmap for CircleCI's data platform, making architectural decisions that balance scalability, cost, and maintainability. You will evaluate and champion new technologies and tools, leading their adoption across the organization. Your work will involve designing systems for terabyte-scale data processing, focusing on performance and cost optimization.

You will establish data engineering standards, patterns, and best practices that elevate team quality. Your responsibilities will include modeling infrastructure costs and driving efficiency initiatives across Snowflake and other cloud platforms. You will design and build scalable infrastructure for AI/ML workloads, including model training pipelines and feature engineering systems.

Additionally, you will create reusable frameworks and internal platforms that abstract complexity for other engineers. You will design complex data models for critical business domains, ensuring they balance normalization, performance, and usability. Your role will also involve architecting real-time and streaming data infrastructure for low-latency use cases, as well as engineering solutions for large-dataset performance challenges.
