You have a strong background in backend engineering, particularly with Go, and enjoy tackling complex systems problems. Your experience includes building scalable APIs and services that are both performant and secure, and you thrive in early-stage environments where your contributions can have a direct impact on the product and its users.

You are familiar with modern tech stacks and have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL as your primary database. You understand the importance of infrastructure and have worked with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform to manage and deploy applications effectively. Your knowledge of TypeScript and React also allows you to collaborate seamlessly with frontend teams.

You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are passionate about using technology to drive innovation in the life sciences sector and are excited about the opportunity to work with a team of experienced founders and engineers.

Desirable

Experience with AI and machine learning services is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies as the company grows.

What you'll do

As a Backend Engineer at Collate, you will design and implement the backend systems that power our AI document generation platform. Your primary responsibilities will include building and maintaining APIs and services that are reliable and scalable, ensuring that they meet the needs of our users as we transition from prototypes to large-scale deployment.

You will collaborate closely with AI researchers and frontend engineers to create a seamless user experience, contributing to the overall architecture and design of the platform. Your role will involve optimizing database performance and ensuring data integrity while implementing best practices for security and reliability.

You will also participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
