Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering management with a focus on team development and technical leadership. You understand the importance of fostering a positive work environment that encourages innovation and collaboration. With experience in mentoring and coaching, you are committed to the growth of your team members and are skilled in hiring and onboarding new talent. You are accountable for the technical decisions made by your team and work closely with product counterparts to ensure successful delivery against the roadmap. You thrive in cross-functional environments and are adept at collaborating with various teams to meet industry standards.
Desirable
Experience with public cloud architectures, particularly AWS and GCP, is highly desirable. Familiarity with modern programming languages such as Kotlin and Python for backend development, as well as TypeScript and React for frontend development, will set you apart. Knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL and Yugabyte, along with experience in event-sourced models using Kafka, will be beneficial. You should also be comfortable with gRPC for intra-service communication.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Manager at ComplyAdvantage, you will take ownership of your team, guiding them through their professional development while ensuring that they are equipped to tackle the challenges of building high-performance systems. You will set the direction for your team, making critical technical decisions that align with the company's goals. Your role will involve collaborating with product managers to ensure that your team's work aligns with the product roadmap and meets the needs of the business. You will also be responsible for cross-team initiatives, working alongside other Engineering Managers to drive improvements and innovations across the organization.
You will engage in both the design and implementation of systems that are crucial for detecting financial risks, ensuring that your team adheres to industry standards and best practices. Your leadership will foster a culture of learning and openness to new ideas and technologies, encouraging your team to innovate and improve continuously. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and will play a key role in shaping the future of the tech team.
