Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in designing and scaling systems for high-volume transactions. Your expertise in Node.js and TypeScript allows you to build robust APIs that are both secure and reliable. You understand the importance of performance and maintainability in software design, and you have a strong product awareness that helps you align technical solutions with business goals.

You are familiar with PostgreSQL and have experience in optimizing database performance for high-transaction environments. Your knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and Kubernetes, enables you to deploy and manage applications effectively in a distributed environment. You thrive in collaborative settings and are comfortable working with teams across different time zones, particularly during Eastern Time business hours.

Desirable

Experience with blockchain technology is a plus, as it aligns with Conduit's vision of enabling frictionless value exchange. Familiarity with fintech and payments platforms will help you understand the unique challenges and opportunities in this space.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Conduit, you will design and implement scalable backend systems that power our fintech and payments platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our solutions meet the needs of businesses in emerging markets. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and conducting code reviews to uphold high standards of quality.

You will be responsible for developing APIs that handle high-volume transactions securely and reliably. This includes optimizing existing systems and implementing new features that enhance user experience and operational efficiency. You will also engage in troubleshooting and debugging complex issues, ensuring that our systems remain robust and performant.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their roles. You will participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team, ensuring that our solutions are scalable and aligned with business objectives.
