You have experience as a backend engineer, particularly with TypeScript, and are comfortable working in a remote-first environment. You enjoy solving complex engineering problems and have a strong understanding of distributed systems and API design. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with product managers and designers to create impactful digital experiences.

You have a solid background in developing REST and GraphQL APIs, ensuring they can handle billions of requests efficiently. Your experience with cloud services like AWS, along with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, allows you to build scalable and maintainable systems. You are also familiar with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, which helps streamline deployment processes.

Desirable

Experience with event-driven architectures and a passion for leveraging AI to enhance user experiences would be a plus. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within your team.

What you'll do

As a Backend Engineer at Contentful, you will be at the forefront of developing a modern Digital Experience platform. You will collaborate with a high-performing team to solve complex engineering challenges, enabling customers to connect and reshape their content for various digital experiences. Your role will involve enhancing existing API experiences and ensuring they meet the demands of a rapidly growing customer base.

You will work on building robust distributed systems that are reliable and efficient, contributing to the overall architecture of the platform. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, maintainable code, participating in code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers. You will also engage in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with product and design teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.
