Overview

Convene is hiring a Sous Chef to join their culinary team in London. You'll assist the Head Chef in managing food preparation and presentation for high-volume catering events. This position requires experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

You have experience working in high-volume kitchen environments, demonstrating a strong focus on food presentation and quality. You understand the importance of timely meal service and are committed to maintaining high standards in food preparation. You are capable of assisting in menu planning and costing, ensuring that all dishes meet the culinary team's expectations. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to support your colleagues in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

You are comfortable taking on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Head Chef, including managing kitchen staff and ensuring smooth operations. You possess strong communication skills, allowing you to build effective working relationships with team members and other departments. You are adaptable and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the venue and its clients.

What you'll do

As a Sous Chef at Convene, you will play a pivotal role in the culinary team, assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of food for various events. You will ensure that all meals are served promptly and to the highest standards, contributing to the overall satisfaction of clients and guests. You will be involved in menu planning and will assist in the costing of dishes, ensuring that all culinary offerings are both appealing and budget-conscious.
