You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and confidence.
You understand the importance of balancing quick shipping with thoughtful long-term technical strategy — you know when to address technical debt and when to improve infrastructure and processes. Your expertise in technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Golang allows you to contribute effectively to the engineering roadmap.
You are passionate about shaping engineering culture and improving team velocity through better processes — your leadership style encourages open communication and collaboration among team members. You are committed to writing clear technical documentation and organizing engineering tasks efficiently.
You enjoy working in person and believe that building a strong culture happens face-to-face — you are looking for a role where you can contribute to a highly collaborative, in-person environment.
Desirable
Experience with component/design system architecture and managing libraries is a plus — you have a keen eye for detail and understand the nuances of building scalable web applications. Familiarity with AWS services such as DynamoDB, Lambda, and Cognito will help you excel in this role.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Assembly, you will lead complex technical projects and be a core member of the engineering and product team — your responsibilities will include designing and building full stack features that enhance our flagship web platform. You will oversee the libraries we use and manage the component/design system architecture, ensuring that we build the most robust and testable features.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design leads to help shape the engineering roadmap — your insights will be invaluable in balancing short-term needs with long-term goals. You will also be responsible for writing technical documentation and setting up infrastructure, which will help streamline our processes and improve team effectiveness.
In this role, you will mentor junior team members, helping them develop their skills and navigate complex technical challenges — your leadership will play a crucial role in building a strong engineering team. You will implement better processes and refine our interview process, contributing to the overall engineering culture at Assembly.
