What you'll do

As a Staff Backend Engineer in the Messaging and Caching Platform team, you will be responsible for designing and building robust infrastructure that supports the company's platform services. Your core mission will be to ensure that these services are scalable, reliable, and available, enabling other teams to unleash their productivity.

You will lead the architecture and implementation of messaging and caching solutions that enhance the performance of Coupang's applications. This includes optimizing existing services and developing new features that meet the evolving needs of the business. You will collaborate with product managers and other engineers to define requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

You will also be involved in monitoring and managing the health of the platform services, ensuring that they meet the required performance metrics. This includes setting up alerts and dashboards to track service performance and responding to incidents as they arise.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles. You will participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code is maintained across the team.
