Coupang is hiring a Legal Counsel to support their payment and fintech services. You'll work on legal issues related to online and offline payments, stablecoins, and global partnerships. This position requires a law degree and relevant experience in fintech or legal counsel roles.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a qualified attorney with a law degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm, financial institution, or fintech company. You possess the ability to quickly interpret new regulatory areas and connect them to business opportunities. Your strong communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with various teams, including product, engineering, policy, and compliance.
What you'll do
As a Legal Counsel at Coupang Pay, you will review and analyze legal issues related to payment and fintech services, including online and offline payments, VAN, QR payments, and merchant fees. You will also assess regulatory requirements under laws such as the Electronic Financial Transactions Act and the Specialized Credit Finance Business Act. In addition, you will provide legal counsel on new financial service methods involving points, prepaid cards, and stablecoins, ensuring compliance with various financial regulations.
You will engage with regulatory bodies and provide advice on internal control risks related to financial business and virtual assets. Furthermore, you will review contracts and regulatory matters related to global payment collaborations, including partnerships with companies in Taiwan and other regions. Your role will involve ensuring that Coupang Pay's innovative payment infrastructure and financial services are implemented swiftly and securely in the market.
