You are a newly qualified attorney with a valid license to practice law in South Korea. You have less than 2 years of experience and are eager to dive into the legal aspects of fintech and payment systems. You possess a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and are keen to learn about the intersection of law and technology in the financial sector.

What you'll do
As a Legal Counsel at Coupang Pay, you will review and analyze legal issues related to various payment methods, including online and offline transactions, QR payments, and merchant fees. You will also be involved in assessing regulatory compliance concerning electronic financial transactions and credit finance laws. Your role will include providing legal advice on the integration of global payment functionalities and business structures.
In addition, you will work on legal matters concerning new financial service instruments such as stablecoins and virtual assets. This includes reviewing the issuance and utilization of stablecoins, as well as compliance with various financial regulations. You will liaise with regulatory bodies and provide guidance on internal control risks.
You will also support the legal aspects of international payment collaborations, reviewing contracts and regulatory requirements related to partnerships with companies in Taiwan and other global markets. Your insights will help shape the legal foundation of Coupang's innovative payment solutions.
