Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in software engineering with experience in building and maintaining high-scale operational systems — you've owned customer-facing APIs and understand the intricacies of low-latency inference systems. You are comfortable working with GPU workloads and have a keen interest in developing APIs for large language models (LLMs). Your experience includes collaborating across teams to influence architectural direction and deliver impactful products.
You possess a solid understanding of system design principles and have a track record of ensuring scalability and reliability in the systems you've built — you thrive in environments where you can contribute to both product experience and core infrastructure. You are eager to learn and adapt, especially in the rapidly evolving field of AI and machine learning.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and implement the core systems and APIs that power Databricks Foundation Model Serving — your work will ensure that the infrastructure can handle high-throughput and low-latency demands of frontier AI models. You will partner with product and engineering leadership to define the technical roadmap and long-term architecture for serving workloads, ensuring operational excellence.
You will collaborate closely with platform, product, infrastructure, and research teams to deliver a world-class foundation model API product — your contributions will directly impact how data teams leverage AI to solve complex problems. You will also be involved in shaping the product experience, ensuring that it meets the needs of users while maintaining high standards of performance and reliability.
