Who you are
You have a strong background in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, particularly with Apache Spark. Your experience includes providing deep code-level analysis and guidance on Spark runtime performance, ensuring customers can effectively utilize the Databricks platform. You are adept at creating detailed troubleshooting guides and runbooks to assist support teams in resolving customer escalations efficiently.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to act as a technical bridge between support and engineering teams. Your ability to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner is crucial for ensuring that customer issues are properly vetted before reaching the engineering team. You are proactive in identifying Spark bugs and suggesting improvements, contributing to the overall success of the product.
What you'll do
As a Senior Backline Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving critical customer issues related to Apache Spark and the Databricks platform. You will work closely with the support team to provide best practices guidance and ensure that customers are leveraging Spark core libraries and APIs effectively. Your role will involve deep code-level analysis of Spark internals, Spark SQL, and Structured Streaming to address complex challenges faced by customers.
You will contribute to automation and tooling programs aimed at enhancing the efficiency of daily troubleshooting processes. Collaborating with the Spark Engineering Team, you will help spread awareness of upcoming features and releases, ensuring that both customers and support teams are well-informed. Your insights will play a vital role in improving the overall customer experience and the performance of the Databricks platform.
