Job Description

Who you are

You are an experienced Engineering Manager with a background in software development, SRE, or a related technical field. With 2-5 years of experience managing a small team, you have a proven track record of coaching team members and guiding their career journeys. You possess strong technical judgment and are adept at breaking down complex projects into manageable tasks. Your experience includes building or maintaining production systems, which gives you the insight needed to support your team effectively. You are passionate about fostering a positive and high-performance culture within your team, ensuring that everyone can thrive.

Desirable

Experience with developer advocacy or community engagement is a plus, as is familiarity with modern software development practices. You understand the importance of collaboration across teams, including Product, Engineering, and Marketing, to drive successful advocacy initiatives.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a team of Developer Advocates, guiding their work priorities and helping them identify new career opportunities. You will contribute to defining the team’s objectives and key results (OKRs), ensuring that your team consistently delivers high-quality output. Your hands-on experience will allow you to contribute technical content, such as videos and talks, to support your team and represent Datadog in the community. You will work closely with various internal teams to prioritize requests and ensure that advocacy initiatives are well-supported. Your leadership will help remove technical and procedural roadblocks, enabling your team to do their best work.
